Welcome to the mentorship phase, where participants are trading hype for hands-on hustle. Organized by MUIAA Ltd, in partnership with Nairobi City County and Computer Aid International, this ongoing mentorship is helping transform blockchain brainstorms into real, deployable solutions. No jargon. No fluff. Just building.
What’s Actually Happening?
Over the past several days, bootcamp participants have been paired with Web3 mentors to refine their capstone projects. These projects are not just academic exercises; they are tackling real Nairobi problems with decentralized answers.
Some of the themes being explored:
- Transparent public service delivery using blockchain
- DeFi for informal sector lending
- Digital identity solutions for underbanked communities
And no, no one is building a meme coin (at least, not officially).
Behind the Scenes: The Mentors Making It Happen
We can’t thank our mentors enough – Marvin Ngala, Parvin Kiptoo, David Montee, Enock, Antonio Omambia, Osborne Njoroge, John Muthee, and Martin Kimani, to name a few. They’ve gone beyond technical tutoring to become sounding boards, problem-solvers, and pitch coaches.
If mentorship were a sport, these folks would be in the finals with a DAO voting them MVPs.
Coming Up: The Grand Finale
All roads lead to May 10th, where we’ll celebrate standout projects at the Awarding and Closing Ceremony. Expect demos, awards, and probably someone trying to explain NFTs and Cypherium mining to the audience.
